BS: Exegesis of Hebrews

Course Description 

This course aims to provide an exegetical and theological understanding of the Epistle to the Hebrews. After a brief introductory survey of the book, the course will explore how the author of Hebrews presents Jesus’ supremacy over angels, Moses, and the Levitical priesthood. Following the homiletical movement of the book, the course focuses on how Christ is proclaimed and applied within the recipients’ historical situation. Students will examine the structural flow of Hebrews closely and will seek to apply its original theological message to contemporary contexts through sound hermeneutical principles.
