Dr. David G. Whitla is professor of Church History at Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Pittsburgh, PA.  Born in Scotland and raised in Northern Ireland, he emigrated to the United States in 2000, where he served as an educator and pastor, before obtaining his PhD at Queens University Belfast.  Dr. Whitla is a co-editor of four volumes of the forthcoming Works of Samuel Rutherford (Reformation Heritage Books), editor of The Sum of Saving Knowledge (Crown and Covenant, 2023), a contributor to The Brill Companion to the Reformation in Scotland, ca. 1525-1638: Frameworks of Change and Development (Leiden: Brill, 2022), co-author of Portraits of Christ (Crown and Covenant, 2020), and editor of John Owen’s Rules for Walking in Fellowship (Grand Rapids: Reformation Heritage Books, 2014). His articles and reviews have appeared in the Journal of British Studies, Journal of the Northern Renaissance, Puritan Reformed Journal, Studies in Puritanism and Piety, Reformed Theological Journal, and Reformed Presbyterian Theological Journal. He has delivered conference papers at the University of St Andrews, Scotland, Queens University Belfast, and the Evangelical Theological Society.  David is married to June, and they have five children.

大衛．惠特拉博士（Dr. David G. 他的文章與書評曾發表於《Journal of British Studies》、《Journal of the Northern Renaissance》、《Puritan Reformed Journal》、《Studies in Puritanism and Piety》、《Reformed Theological Journal》以及《Reformed Presbyterian Theological Journal》等學術期刊。他也曾在University of St Andrews、Queen’s University Belfast以及Evangelical Theological Society等機構與學術會議發表論文。惠特拉博士與妻子June結婚，育有五名子女。

Dr. David G. Whitla 將於2026年四月1-6 號來台教授 PRTS in Asia 的歷史/神學課程：蘇格蘭改教及後改教時期的教牧神學與靈修。During the week of April 1-6, 2026, Dr. Whitla will be teaching a History/Theology course for PRTS in Asia titled “Scottish Reformation and Post-Reformation Pastoral Theology and Spirituality.”
